The College and Career Guidance Office is dedicated to supporting the MCA students and their families as they seek God’s will for their lives after high school graduation. MCA has grown from a one-room schoolhouse to a thriving and growing K-12 Christian school. MCA intends to keep a “family” approach in coming alongside our families as a guide through the maze of college selection, application, financial aid, and college major selection. In addition, MCA will provide support and guidance for the student seeking technical careers and military options, which do not require college degrees. According to the Principles of Good Practice of NACCAP Counseling, members are directed to address sixteen items in admissions, financial aid, and testing policies and procedures in their guidance programs. MCA will strive to achieve compliance and surpass these basic recommendations. The eight components of the National Office for School Counselor will be the framework that the programs provided by the MCA guidance office will be designed to address. Each of the components is essential and needs to be intentionally addressed through out the MCA program.
The College Board National Office for School Counselor Advocacy has established "The Eight Components of College and Career Readiness Counseling" which are the standards for good practice in the high school guidance office.
